Reflecting on 2024 and Embracing 2025 with God

As we close out 2024, it’s natural to look back on the year—the highs, the lows, and everything in between. For many of us, this year may have brought moments of joy, adventure, and growth, but it might have also included heartbreak, stress, and challenges that felt insurmountable. Yet, as we stand on the threshold of a new year, I encourage you to pause and reflect not just on what happened but on how far God has brought you.

Think about the moments when He made a way where you didn’t see one, the times He fought your battles, and the places where His presence carried you through. Those victories, no matter how big or small, are a testament to His faithfulness. Reflecting on these moments can fill us with gratitude and remind us that God is always working, even in the midst of our trials.

Moving Forward: Don’t Stay in the Past

Reflection is important, but it’s equally vital not to dwell too long on the past. Instead, let’s focus on the now and what God has planned for the future. The start of a new year is a fresh opportunity to align our hearts and goals with God’s purpose. It’s a chance to dream big, step out in faith, and trust that His plans for us are good—bigger and more rewarding than anything we could imagine.

Kick-Starting 2025: Write Down Your Plans

As we prepare to step into 2025, I want to encourage you to take time over the next few days to write down your goals and dreams for the new year. Grab a journal or a blank piece of paper, and let your heart pour out what you hope to achieve in the coming months. Maybe it’s a personal goal, a professional aspiration, or a spiritual milestone you want to reach. Whatever it is, write it down.

But don’t stop there. After you’ve written your plans, give them to God. Lay them before Him in prayer and ask for His guidance. Pray for wisdom, clarity, and alignment with His will. Sometimes our plans might not unfold the way we expect, and that’s okay. God’s ways are higher than ours, and often, He redirects us to something far greater than we envisioned.

Pray Over Your Goals

In the next few days, as we celebrate New Year’s Eve and welcome 2025, make it a priority to pray over your goals. Ask God to:

  • Align your plans with His purpose.

  • Give you the strength and guidance to pursue them.

  • Provide wisdom and discernment when things don’t go as expected.

  • Help you release control and trust Him fully.

These prayers will serve as a foundation for your journey into the new year, keeping you grounded in faith and connected to His will.

Start Slow and Keep It Between You and God

Starting something new can feel overwhelming, so don’t feel like you need to tackle everything all at once. Take it one step at a time, and don’t feel the need to share your plans with others just yet. Spend time in quiet conversation with God, and let Him lead you. This intentional time with Him will strengthen your faith and allow you to hear His voice more clearly as you move forward.

Trust God for What’s Ahead

As we step into 2025, remember that it’s not about perfection but about progress and alignment with God’s plan. The beauty of walking with Him is knowing that we don’t have to have it all figured out—we simply need to trust in Him. Keep praying over your goals, seeking His guidance, and leaning into His promises. He is faithful to answer our prayers and lead us into a future filled with hope.

Let’s embrace 2025 with open hearts, surrendered plans, and unwavering faith. This is your year to grow, to trust, and to step boldly into the purpose God has for you.

What are your plans for 2025? Have you taken them to God in prayer? I’d love to hear how you’re preparing for the new year!
